“Systemic bullying, hazing and abuse generally are identified with poor, weak or toxic organizational cultures. Cultures that are toxic have stated ethical values that are espoused but not employed, and other non-ethical values which are operational, dominant, but unstated.

Such cultures thrive when good people are silent, silenced, or pushed out; when bad apples are vocal, retained, promoted, and empowered; and when the neutral majority remain silent in order to survive. Those who are most successful in such a toxic culture are those who have adapted to it, or adopted it as their own”. (McKay, Arnold, Fratzl & Thomas, 2008)

Imitation is .......

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

The University of Newcastle continues to copy the name of this website.  They use the name "Stop bullying WITH the University of Newcastle".  This is a relatively new deception of theirs to prevent people finding our website.

We are very pleased to see them promoting an anti-bullying program for children.  We would be even more pleased if they would deal appropriately with the harassment, victimisation and bullying of their own staff and students.http://www.newcastle.edu.au/stop-bullying/ http://www.newcastle.edu.au/stop-bullying/ http://www.newcastle.edu.au/stop-bullying/ http://www.newcastle.edu.au/stop-bullying/

  1. I am very alarmed and upset by the amount of marketing propaganda the University is placing in the local community.

The city is festooned with flags with slogans like "world class uni" and "our community" and "your university". So is Gosford.

The buses in the city so have the same sloganeering on them. Today I discovered that the University is also placing their logo and marketing on takeaway coffee cups and distributing them to cafes. I unfortunately was given one this morning.

I can understand if a business needs to pick up sluggish sales with some hype or illusion. What I don't want is a reminder of the University at every possible turn.

The University is directly responsible for at least one suicide and many attempted ones, including my own. All the lies in the world are not going to bring back the dead.

The University is an unsafe place. I have learned to accept that. I have also learned to accept being denied ethical treatment by the University.

Education is overrated, human life is very cheap and almost worthless. Those are things I learned at the University of Newcastle.

Please keep your bullshit off the cups University of Newcastle.
