Bullying at the University of Newcastle (Australia)

We are working to highlight and stop academic workplace bullying at the University of Newcastle, Australia. We are a group of staff and students who have been bullied for speaking out about misconduct.

University of Newcastle Little Known Fact #921

After reporting plagiarism by academic staff, a senior lecturer reported that "one act of bullying involved the theft of ...tuberculosis from my research laboratory".  The senior lecturer "explained that I was scared the attacks would escalate to violence"
Action: "I was told I was 'overreacting'"

This senior lecturer subsequently lost her job at the University of Newcastle.


  1. The "punish the victim to keep things quiet" has been going on for a very long time at this University.

    Since this kind of behaviour has been accepted and encouraged at the University it has become a haven for bullies.

    In fact, the bullying regime has intensified because of the abnormally high concentration of sociopaths who are attracted to the "safe collaborative space" and can focus on their destructive agenda unobstructed.

    The repercussions to innocent people's lives are severe.

    This so called University is pathetic and now churns out McGraduates whose qualifications are a huge waste of time.

    This is because there are very few decent staff left. Adopting the selfish exploitative modus operandus of the staff will not wash anywhere else except Newcastle. Graduate well at the Newcastle University and you will only ever get to work in Newcastle.

    There will be a time where the pigs who created this hell will face the consequences. The University's media campaign to "build reputation" without any truth deserves to fail.

  2. I know a senior lecturer who worked previously in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences who has a large number of valuable original documents and books taken from her locked office when she was on study leave/sabbatical. That is not theft according to UoN because a locked office is university property, not personal property.

    1. How is this behaviour acceptable to the University?

      How does this make the University free from harassment or bullying?

      The real truth of the matter is that the University doesn't take this sort of theft seriously.

      In fact, they accept it and integrate this type of behaviour into their own work ethic.

      The people swearing that the University is safe are actually the problem. Only a high end bully used to lying would ever swear cold faced that the University is safe.

  3. More on marketing / advertising.

    Believe it or not marketing and advertising is actually conspired against the consumer. The merits if something truly beneficial doesn't often need to be mentioned often to herald its merit.

    Does Coca-Cola care if you get gallstones or diabetes? Does Nike care that people in disadvantaged areas of the USA have killed eachother for their product? Does a large multinational bank care if you lose your job?

    The answer is no in every case. Have you noticed that all of the examples mentioned have massive advertising budgets?

    I am now sad to announce that the UoN is now in the same category. Do they care if the consumer can't use their product after purchase? Do they care for your well being? Not if it gets in the way of their industry and business functions.

    I admit the University looks like a really easy going people friendly space. They have created this illusion so that they can gouge you for the rights and opportunity they will tacetly deny you. Once they have your HECS it doesn't matter one iota if you live or die. The latter preferably off campus but no matter.
