Bullying at the University of Newcastle (Australia)

We are working to highlight and stop academic workplace bullying at the University of Newcastle, Australia. We are a group of staff and students who have been bullied for speaking out about misconduct.

Thorough and independent investigation needed

"There needs to be a thorough and independant investigation of all departments at Newcastle Uni . A family member of mine worked at the University for years, employed as a casual but with a workload far beyond anything expected of tenured staff. For years he was routinely bullied until finally he had a complete breakdown. He is now receiving ongoing counselling and he and his family are trying to move on after the devastation" (Comment - Newcastle Herald website).

  1. Sociopath bully types which continue to represent the University are actually not strong leaders or good academics as they lack any personal insight or empathy.

    They actually do irreparable harm to the organizations they claim to typify or represent. Real power and honour are for the men and women of the heart. Those who simply enjoy controlling others have no real place guiding the future generations.

    The current University is stuffed full of types who can't see beyond themselves and so theyes inevitably fail to give real meaning or direction to the people they are supposed to minister to. They can't see this and never will.

    All decent people can do is wait.

    One weakness of the sociopath is a lack of self identity which can be used against them. Their lack of self identity inevitably leads to complete self destruction and they cannot be saved.

    The solution is to not to save them. Left to their own devices they will bully eachother to destruction. Bully versus bully sounds perfectly fair to me.

    The war is lost for the UoN. If you have empathy you should leave asap. The bullying is going to get worse because they are running out of victims.

    The current chancellory is at a loss to define or describe the University to a satisfactory level. This is because they are simply incapable of this. This process alone allows the organisation they claim to be able to define a chance to disintegrate without ever being aware of it. It is not a willful process, just part of a lack of any real awareness or understanding.

    I am happy with the UoN being what it is. The major blunders it will commit to without any self reckoning will be a dire
    amusement.

    Talk about no idea. They actually think we want it.
